KOSAR TAVASOLI
I’m a visual artist with a Master’s degree in graphic design.
My work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. While I use a variety of material and processes in each project, my methodology is consistent. My artworks range from bold, vibrant paintings and exquisite graphic design on clothing, handbags and other fashion accessories.
I started experimenting with fabrics many years ago by silk-screening T-shirts and scarves with my designs, practising with fabric painting for years until I figured out how to get the stylish look I wanted. I took a wide range of courses related to fashion design and used a variety of digital print techniques and hand-painting. I have developed a real passion for experimenting with various styles to create my own unique look.
After graduating from University, I was fortunate enough to start teaching graphic design at university in Tehran (Iran) for 5 years. At the same time, I attended many design exhibitions and contests and have won several awards in graphic design and fashion design.
My experience in working with a wide range of concepts, materials, techniques and working with a broad range of communities and cultures gave me the tools to translate this experience to a variety of possibilities.
As a newcomer, I’m considering making a career out of my creative skills in Toronto.
