WHAT WE DO
Programs that meet artists where they are.
AADN's programs create opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and professional development. We help artists showcase their talents and build partnerships that strengthen their artistic practice and build community.

01
Workshops & Training
Our workshops and training programs bring together artists and community members to collaborate on visual arts, written word, digital media, and storytelling projects. We work with professional and aspiring artists of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Seniors, refugees, youth, and women are encouraged to participate and find empowerment through the arts.
04
Dart
Dart (Diaspora Art) is AADN's incubator for emerging diaspora artists — studio space, peer critique, exhibition opportunities and mentorship from established practitioners. A residency-style program that helps newcomer artists translate their practice into the Canadian arts ecosystem.
07
Seniors Connect
A program and companion mobile app pairing senior artists with younger mentees, preserving heritage craft through intergenerational exchange. Available on Google Play.
02
Information & Referrals
Join our mailing list, participate in community dialogues, and connect with other artists to learn about the support systems and programs available to you across Canada.
03
Documentaries
AADN produces documentaries on social and economic issues faced by artists and artisans of colour and from immigrant communities. “In My Home Canada” explores artists' immigration experience and the challenges they face as newcomers.
05
AAN Multimedia School
Hands-on training in photography, film, sound and digital storytelling — taught by working artists from our network. Short courses and intensives designed for newcomers, youth and seniors who want to tell their own stories on their own terms.
06
Her Voice
A platform that showcases art, music, dance and poetry by women of colour on themes of gender equity, equality and empowerment — building bridges and raising awareness of women's role in community development.
